Our client in Dundalk Co Louth is seeking to recruit an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join their Finance team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate authorisation and correct General Ledger coding.
  • Schedule and process supplier payments in line with agreed payment terms.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received documentation.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Respond to supplier queries and maintain accurate supplier records.
  • Assist with month-end finance activities, including accruals, journals and reconciliations.
  • Support the Financial Controller with financial reporting and ad hoc finance duties.
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies, internal controls and financial regulations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within finance processes and procedures.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Assistant or Accounts Technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and finance administration.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar ERP systems.
  • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.

Desirable

  • ATI or AAT qualification, or currently working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
  • Experience assisting with month-end processes.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, construction or project-based environment would be advantageous.
