Our client is a well-established manufacturing operation based in Dublin 12 and forms part of a highly successful market leading organisation. Due to continued focus on operational excellence and employee wellbeing, they are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead and drive all HSE activities across the site.

As the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving all aspects of health, safety, and environmental performance across our Dublin manufacturing site. You will act as the site's HSE expert, championing a proactive "Safety First" culture while ensuring compliance with Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation, company standards, and ISO management systems.

Working closely with Operations, Production, Planning, Sales, Finance, and leadership teams, you will drive initiatives that protect our people, minimise environmental impact, and support operational excellence through continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be a visible leader who can influence and engage employees at all levels, ensuring health, safety, and environmental management remains at the heart of daily operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a proactive "Safety First" culture throughout the site.
  • Promote employee engagement and accountability for health and safety through coaching, communication, and leadership.
  • Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on all health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Irish health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice.
  • Ensure employees receive appropriate instruction, information, and competency-based training.
  • Support waste reduction, energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental improvement programmes.
  • Develop, review, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, safe systems of work, and workplace inspections.
  • Monitor compliance relating to machine safety, contractor management, hazardous substances, manual handling, PPE, and workplace welfare.
  • Maintain legal registers and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and licence obligations.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental events.
  • Manage internal and external HSE audits and support certification to recognised management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 where applicable.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, logistics, packaging, or FMCG environment.
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, investigations, audits, and compliance monitoring.
  • Experience developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HSE reporting systems.
  • Ability to lead change and drive behavioural safety improvements.
  • Experience managing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Membership of IOSH, IIRSM, or another relevant professional body.
  • Knowledge of environmental permits, waste management, and sustainability programmes.
  • Experience managing HSE software platforms and digital reporting tools.
  • Budget management and project management experience.

This permanent role is an excellent opportunity to join a successful multinational organisation with a strong commitment to safety and sustainability.

A salary in the region of €75,000 - €85,000 plus bonus and benefits will be on offer and immediate interviews will be held for suitable candidates.
