Dundalk, Co. Louth
€55,000 - €60,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering and infrastructure team delivering major water, wastewater, and utilities projects across Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary engineering projects from design and coordination through to installation, commissioning, and project handover. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams while developing your technical expertise within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

The Role

As Mechanical Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects while assisting with design coordination, BIM processes, technical documentation, procurement, and site operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical engineering, project coordination, and problem-solving responsibilities within a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of mechanical engineering projects from start to completion
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Oversee BIM coordination and ensure installation drawings are issued in line with project schedules
  • Assist with procurement, tender packages, and subcontractor coordination
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project QA and compliance requirements
  • Monitor project progress and support programme delivery activities
  • Attend project and coordination meetings
  • Support project close-out documentation and handover activities
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovative engineering practices

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar engineering role
  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects desirable
  • Good knowledge of piping systems and mechanical pipework
  • Experience using BIM/CAD systems, Navisworks, or project planning software advantageous
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Full driving licence required
