Design Engineer - Cork
We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team based in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on innovative HVAC and cooling system projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the Product Engineering Manager
- Supporting the Engineering Team in the development of design concepts for specialised:
- Air Handling Units (AHU)
- Indirect Evaporative Coolers (IEC)
- Direct Evaporative Coolers (DEC)
- Cooling Distribution Units (CDU)
- Component verification and selection including:
- Coils
- Compressors
- Fans
- Dampers
- Actuators
- Filters
- Louvres
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation including:
- Installation & Maintenance Manuals
- Critical spare parts lists
- Technical submittals
- Drawings
- Component selections
- Unit datasheets
- Assisting the Application Engineering team with tender submissions, including:
- Technical review of specifications
- Compilation of technical responses
- Coordination with the design team and key account managers
- Ensuring all unit designs comply with approved project specifications
- Coordinating with production teams to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture
- Maintaining consistent quality and design standards across all projects
- Supporting additional duties as required by the business
Requirements:
- Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in HVAC, cooling systems, or manufacturing design environments preferred
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
