Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Summer Playscheme Workers to support the delivery of a fun, safe, and engaging playscheme programme for children aged 4-16 years.

Reporting to the Assistant Community Development Officer or Playworker, you will play a key role in organising and delivering a wide range of activities, both within the centre and on external trips.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Organise, supervise, and participate in activities within and outside the playscheme
  • Prepare materials and resources for daily programmes
  • Support the development and delivery of engaging play activities
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
  • Ensure compliance with Playwork Code of Practice and Child Protection Policy
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Assist with basic administration, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Represent the service in a professional manner at all times

Essential Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate:

Experience (minimum 1 year):

  • Direct supervision of children as a core part of your role
  • Planning and delivering structured play activities

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be aged 18 or over (child protection requirement)
  • Strong understanding of working with children and young people
