The Opportunity

Staffline is recruiting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for a Fire Safety Officer (Delivery) to join their Building Safety Management team.

The Role

You will act as a competent fire safety professional, responsible for managing fire safety across a designated portfolio of properties. You will lead on Fire Risk Assessments, oversee delivery of remedial works, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.

This role offers a mix of technical responsibility, stakeholder engagement, and contractor management, making it ideal for candidates with experience in fire safety, compliance, or building safety within housing or construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake and manage Fire Risk Assessments and develop risk-based action plans
  • Ensure timely delivery of fire safety remedial works and track progress
  • Manage and coordinate contractors delivering fire safety works
  • Monitor contractor performance and address non-compliance
  • Provide expert technical advice on fire safety legislation, building regulations, and standards
  • Engage with internal teams, tenants, and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to fire safety training and awareness programmes
  • Produce detailed reports, performance data, and recommendations
  • Issue and manage works orders, including financial approvals within delegated limits
  • Support continuous improvement and compliance across the organisation

About You

  • Experience in fire safety, building safety, construction, or compliance
  • Knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments (or working towards competency)
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and oversee works delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse data and produce technical reports
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Intermediate IT skills
