Senior ICT Technician (Band 6)

Location: Knockbracken, Belfast

Salary: £19.10 p/h

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: Temporary ongoing

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) is seeking an experienced ICT Support Services Manager to lead the delivery and support of a wide range of ICT systems across the Trust. Reporting to the ICT Manager, you will manage the technical support team, oversee system performance, and ensure ICT projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ICT support services, including hosting, lifecycle management, purchasing, and staff management.
• Oversee support for networks, servers, telephony, end-user devices, and business applications.
• Lead the ICT technical team in providing responsive, high-quality service to Trust staff.
• Provide technical advice and support for clinical and business projects.
• Manage suppliers, contracts, and service level agreements.
• Monitor ICT systems, resolve complex issues, and drive service improvements.

Essential Criteria

• A degree (or equivalent) in an ICT discipline plus 2 years' experience in installation and support of networked systems and staff management.
  OR
  HND (or equivalent) in ICT plus 3 years' experience in installation and support of networked systems and staff management.
• Proven experience managing ICT service delivery and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of IT operating systems and hardware platforms.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car (unless exempt under disability provisions).
• Ability to participate in the ICT on-call rota.
