Commercial Property Lawyer, Principal Legal Officer, required for a large public sector organisation based through the Commercial & Property Division, Dept Solicitors Office, Northern Ireland Civil Service.
Location: Lanyon Plaza, Lanyon Place, Belfast.
Pay Per Hour: £28.69
Full Time / Part Time: Full Time (8am-6pm, core hours 10am-4pm)
JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:
Provision of legal advice and services, in a public law context, and acting on behalf of Departmental clients in commercial property transactions, completing title due diligence and drafting contract and property transfer documentation. In particular, the role will require drafting and negotiating commercial leases, agreements for lease, commercial development agreements and ancillary construction documentation.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provision of legal advice and services, in a public law context, and acting on behalf of Departmental clients in commercial property transactions, completing title due diligence and drafting contract and property transfer documentation. In particular, the role will require drafting and negotiating commercial leases, agreements for lease, commercial development agreements and ancillary construction documentation. Advising client Department's on the Business Tenancies (NI) Order 1996 and representing clients at the Lands Tribunal for NI. Advice on vesting and other related property matters.
Actively working to build effective client relationships and understand client needs and priorities. Support Assistant Director in delivering and forward planning the work of their team.
Regularly undertake case, time recording and quality assurance procedures. Participate effectively in the corporate life of the division, including team briefs, one to ones and training to develop professional skills and knowledge.
