The Opportunity

Our client one of Northern Ireland's largest employers has a fantastic position within their Financial Reporting Team as a Management Accountant - this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company delivering infrastructural change to all Northern Ireland!

The successful applicant will play a key role in the production of both statutory and regulatory accounts, assist with monthly management accounts and assist with both forecasting and budgeting. Moreover, the applicant will have experience with both Financial and Management Accounting with prior experience from a large company or global accountancy firm.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality statutory and regulatory financial statements in line with best practice accounting frameworks, including adherence to IFRS.
  • Supporting statutory, regulatory, and interim audit activities, including direct engagement with external auditors.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including performing account reconciliations and detailed financial analysis.
  • Managing and analysing monthly cost models to support financial insights.
  • Creating standardised reports tailored to the needs of individual business units.
  • Providing critical support to Finance Business Partners during business planning cycles and month-end reporting.
  • Contributing to financial forecasts, budgeting, and business planning efforts in collaboration with the Financial Planning and Strategy team.
  • Identifying opportunities to refine and improve existing processes, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and best practices.
  • Supporting finance-related aspects of IT and Change projects that impact systems or processes.

Criteria

  • Professionally qualified accountant with solid experience in both financial and management accounting, including preparing and reviewing accounts, as well as involvement in audit processes.
  • Technically proficient, with strong skills in Microsoft Office tools-particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint-to support reporting and analysis tasks.
  • Experience Big 4 accounting firm or within a large corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks or prior experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Proven ability to present financial data and analysis to senior leaders and management teams, along with experience collaborating with operational managers.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
