Job description

Job Title:Logistics Planner

Key Purpose:
Responsible for managing and controlling inbound and outbound ISO tank shipments within and off the Island of Ireland, including all domestic traffic. This role requires overseeing the entire order lifecycle in a safe and efficient manner, directly interfacing with customers to meet their transport needs from start to finish.

Principal Accountabilities / Main Responsibilities:

  • Traffic Management:

    • Daily updating of the traffic management system (Ortec).
    • Maintain transport data in the accounting system (Vista) with all necessary shipment information.
    • Liaise with customers, receivers, and relevant branch offices regarding shipment statuses and updates.
  • Shipment Coordination:

    • Create and update shipments in the system, ensuring all data is accurate and current.
    • Address customer queries and requests promptly, ensuring their requirements are fully met.
    • Coordinate and advise routing schedules for sub-contractors and branch offices.
    • Ensure that ISO tanks allocated for export shipments meet compatibility, legal, and customer standards.
  • Administrative Tasks:

    • Complete all necessary documentation, including Shipment Updates, CMR, Driver Instructions, Shipping Advices, and Booking Orders.
    • Report any quality or safety incidents and initiate investigations as required.
    • Approve shipment-related invoices and inform customers of any additional costs, ensuring accurate billing information is entered into the system.

Ensure all tasks comply with the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 1989 (and amendments), as well as company Health & Safety Policy and Corporate eTQM System standards (DIS EN ISO 9002/14001). This includes fostering a safety-first mindset across all operational activities.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in transport or logistics coordination
  • Familiarity with transport management systems (Ortec) and accounting software (Vista) is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
