HGV 2 Driver

Our client, a long standing family run storage and shipping company based in Newtownards are currently seeking to recruit an HGV 2 Driver to join their team.

The position is permanent.

Paying an attractive salary,

• Basic wage - 40 hours @ £12.75 = £510
• Overtime after 40 hours is paid at time and a half
• 5 x overnight allowance @ £23 per night (tax free) = £115 (only when doing over-night runs)
• 3.5 hours overtime for 5 nights @ £19.13 = £224.69 (Only on over-night runs)
• Weekly Good Service Bonus = £20 per week
• Potential weekly gross wage = £869.69 (this is excluding over-time)

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday (the odd time you may be out on a Sunday night or back on a Saturday morning when on trips away but this is rare as generally it's Monday to Friday).

The role:

The Job will be both house removals and specialist logistics so varied days and will always be a 2 man crew so you will have a porter assisting on every job at a minimum. It will include a mix of local working and weekly schedules to GB and throughout Ireland.

If you are successful in your application, you will be professionally trained for your specific role and the training is continuous throughout your career with them. You will be allocated a specific vehicle in their fleet which are all fitted with state of the art sat navs, telematics systems & CCTV allowing your daily vehicle checks and orders to be completed online. Their fleet is modern, purpose built and they operate an-going fleet replacement programme.

Job Duties:

• Completing paperwork as required.
• Managing/leading your crew on site.
• Working with a team of Drivers & Porters.
• Specialist packing, moving & storing.
• Loading & unloading into their warehouse & trade partners warehouses.
• Weekly schedules throughout the UK & Ireland.
• Local house removals.
• Working on specialist logistics contracts.
• Maintaining good vehicle cleanliness and completing daily vehicle checks.

Essential Criteria:

• HGV 2 Driving License
• Digital Tacho Card
• Up to date CPC
• Excellent customer service skills

Advantageous criteria:

HGV 2 driving experience
