Job Title: Healthcare Assistant - Intellectual Disabilities
Location: South Limerick
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role:

I am currently recruiting a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join a Residential Services team in South Limerick, supporting both adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering high standards of care in a person-centred and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care and support tailored to each individual's needs

  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities

  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours appropriately

  • Work collaboratively within a team and independently as required

  • Foster positive and professional relationships with service users, families, and external stakeholders

  • Promote dignity, independence, and well-being in all care interactions

  • Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and relevant care regulations


Essential Requirements:

  • QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support or equivalent

  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities

  • Full manual driving licence and access to own transport

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • A sincere interest in supporting people to lead fulfilling lives
