Person in Charge & Social Care Workers

Location: Rural South Limerick
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary Ranges:

  • Person in Charge (PIC): €54,000 - €63,000

  • Social Care Worker: €36,945 - €52,720

A leading provider of high-quality residential and community-based services for individuals with intellectual disabilities is currently recruiting for Person in Charge and Social Care Worker positions. Both roles are full-time and based in a structured and person-centred residential setting in rural South Limerick.

1. Person in Charge (PIC)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of a designated residential service

  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA standards and all relevant legislation

  • Manage, supervise, and support the staff team

  • Oversee risk management, safeguarding, and quality assurance processes

  • Develop and implement person-centred care and support plans

  • Foster strong relationships with families, external professionals, and the wider community

Requirements:

  • Relevant Level 7 or Level 8 qualification (e.g. Social Care, Nursing, Applied Social Studies)

  • Minimum of 3 years' management experience in disability or social care services

  • Excellent knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements

  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities

  • Full clean driving licence


2. Social Care Worker

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver person-centred support and daily care to residents

  • Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and community inclusion

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulations

  • Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals

  • Promote dignity, choice, and independence

Requirements:

  • Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related field

  • Previous experience working in residential or community disability services

  • Understanding of person-centred and positive behaviour support approaches

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Full driver's licence preferred
