An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Basic Grade Medical Scientist to join a dynamic histology team within a well-established hospital laboratory. This permanent role is ideal for a candidate looking to grow their professional career in a quality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and assist in all aspects of routine histology laboratory processing and analysis.

• Ensure testing is conducted in line with INAB and JCI Accreditation Standards.

• Participate in quality assurance and control procedures, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory SOPs and safety protocols.

• Support training and mentorship of new and existing staff members.

• Contribute to data reporting and usage of laboratory information systems.

Requirements:

• Eligible for or hold current membership with the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) / CORU or equivalent.

• Minimum of 1 year in-service training across all laboratory disciplines.

• Experience in Histology is essential.

• Experience in Cut Up procedures is highly advantageous.

• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and evolving service requirements.

Desirable Attributes:

• Understanding of current health and safety legislation in laboratory settings.

• Familiarity with laboratory accreditation processes and quality management systems.

• Competency with laboratory IT systems and data reporting tools.
