Band 4 Financial Assessments Officer required for a large public sector organisation based through the Belfast Trust.
Location: Knockbracken Healthcare Park
Pay Per Hour: £12.86
Full Time / Part Time: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:
The postholder is responsible for liaising with clients / relatives who are placed in residential & nursing accommodation to gather the relevant financial information to ascertain their contribution towards their care in accordance with procedures. This includes financial assessment of client, collecting client contributions and payment of personal allowance in accordance with legislation.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing clients for their contribution towards their residential & nursing accommodation.
- Paying the residential & nursing accommodation providers for client's referred by the Trust.
- Paying external organisations for providing domiciliary care in the community on behalf of the Trust.
- Paying Direct Payment recipients.
- Monitoring the financial performance of the package provided to direct payment recipients.
- Managing the patient / clients monies retained by the Trust.
- Monitoring clinical areas that retain property on behalf of patients that this is being managed in accordance with Trust guidelines.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Candidates must have one of the following qualifications;
- BTEC Higher National Diploma (Business),
- A finance / business related degree,
- Institute of Accounting Technicians,
- Part-qualified up to intermediate stage with one of the CCAB bodies i.e. ACA Professional 2, ACCA Certificate Stage, CIMA Stage 2 or CIPFA Professional 1.
and one year's Finance Experience
OR
- Five GCSE's Grade A-C (or equivalent) to include Maths/Accounts and English and two years Finance experience,
