Band 3 Dispatch Operator required for a large public sector organisation based through the Belfast Trust.

Location: Royal Victoria Hospital

Pay Per Hour: £11.67

Shift work - 3 nights per week including weekends

JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:

The post holder will be responsible for dispatching urgent, routine pre-booked and scheduled tasks to staff within a range of services. These Service include portering, transport and environmental cleanliness for various sites across the trust. The dispatch operator will also monitor and action faults in relation to the trusts pneumatic tube system and order taxis. They will maintain a live database and ensure that job requests are entered onto the system before allocating personnel to specific tasks, They will take appropriate action to deal with tasks not complying with agreed timescale and provide information on the system in order for management and audit report to be produced on a regular basis

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure job requests are taken in a timely and accurate manner and entered onto the system accordingly
  • Ensure prompt dispatch of job requests to specified personnel
  • Take appropriate action to deal with jobs not complying with agreed timescale and entering reasons for delays onto the system
  • Respond to alerts or warnings on the system that show uncompleted or late job requests by contacting specified personnel
  • Ensure regular communications is maintained with users of the service in order to update them on the status and progress of their request.
  • Transfer incorrectly directed calls to their correct location
  • Ensure radios are in correct working order and that all relevant staff are issued with one on a daily basis in accordance with Operational Policy
  • Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the admin & systems manager

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • 5 GCSE's including Maths and English
  • IT Competence
  • 1 year relevant experience in a support services role in a complex organisation as a Band 1 or above
