Accounts Payable Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our clients growing finance team. In this role, you will manage a team of three across four sites, overseeing supplier invoice processing, payments, and query resolution. You will drive process improvements, uphold strong internal controls, and support the business during growth periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the Accounts Payable team, ensuring efficient workflow and high performance.
• Develop and monitor team KPIs, such as invoice volumes and on-time processing, to drive continuous improvement.
• Identify and address training needs within the team.
• Oversee goods/invoice receipt variance resolution and accrual processes.
• Prepare and report monthly performance metrics, including cash flow and site expenditures, to key stakeholders.
• Standardize and document Accounts Payable and payment processes.
• Ensure prompt invoice payments, leveraging discounts when appropriate.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and manage GRIR clear-downs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure VAT compliance.
• Respond promptly and professionally to business unit and supplier inquiries.
• Proactively pursue process improvements and standardization.
• Maintain adequate controls for Accounts Payable.
• Support special projects as assigned.

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of achieving results.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and banking software.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable Criteria:

• Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Financial accounting acumen to understand the impacts of executing Accounts Payable and payments work-flows.
• Experience in cash flow management.
