Quality Technician Job Purpose
Ensures quality standards are maintained by approving incoming parts, performing first-off and finished product inspections, recording results, and generating quality reports.

Quality Technician Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pre-plan and prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for incoming products from Production.
  • Approve first articles by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting unacceptable parts, and communicating adjustments to production operators/supervisors.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting tests, and managing re-work where necessary.
  • Document inspection results through reports and logs, summarize re-work and waste, and input data into the quality database.
  • Acquire and maintain material and sub-contract certificates for FAI report submission.
  • Keep measurement equipment in good working condition by following operating instructions, and arranging for repairs and calibration as needed.
  • Conduct tests and quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Perform internal audits and process audit checks throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Verify production samples (first-off and last-off) to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Participate in investigations of non-conformances, customer complaints, and health & safety issues.
  • Support the maintenance of the Quality Management System across the organisation.
  • Identify areas for improvement in quality control processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or Engineers.

Key Requirements:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in dimensional measurement inspections using metric and imperial units, and skilled use of calipers, height gauges, and thread gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Outstanding communication abilities and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
