About the Role

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting a motivated and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join a friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has a passion for sales and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

As a Shop Assistant, you will play an important role in building strong customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities and ensuring the shop operates to the highest standards. You will provide knowledgeable product advice, help drive sales performance and contribute to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong customer relationships through excellent service and value-added selling.
• Identify sales opportunities and recommend suitable products and solutions to customers.
• Work towards monthly key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales and margin targets.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professionally merchandised shop and counter area.
• Monitor stock levels and help ensure products are readily available.
• Make telesales calls to new and existing customers to generate sales and strengthen relationships.
• Maintain a tidy, safe and organised working environment.
• Follow security procedures and remain vigilant at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working across different shop locations within a reasonable radius of your home, when required.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, customer-focused and commercially minded, with a strong desire to succeed in a sales environment.

You will also have:

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
• A genuine interest in sales and the motivation to achieve targets.
• A reliable, honest and enthusiastic approach to work.

• The flexibility to work across different shop locations at short notice, within an agreed radius of your home.
• Previous experience in retail, trade counters, DIY stores or customer-facing sales roles is advantageous.
• Knowledge or experience of the construction, tools or automotive industries would be beneficial but is not essential.
