We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established charitable organisation that provides high-quality support services for adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will deliver person-centred support within a day opportunities service, helping adults engage in meaningful activities, develop life skills and work towards personal goals.

You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing, independence and social inclusion while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality person-centred support.
• Encourage independence and personal development.
• Support individuals to participate in activities and community engagement opportunities.
• Build positive, professional relationships with service users.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Promote safeguarding, dignity and respect at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
• Support a range of indoor and outdoor activities where required.

Essential Criteria

• NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 12 months' relevant experience.
• At least 6 months' experience in a caring, support or educational environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Caring, dependable and person-centred approach.
• NISCC registered or willing to register.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge.
• Interest in community-based activities, gardening or outdoor projects.
• Previous experience within a day opportunities or community support setting.
