Credit Control Administrator
Hours - Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm
Salary €35,000 - 45,000
Benefits - Parking, Pension Scheme
Key responsibilities:
Credit Control Administration:
- Maintain accurate customer account records.
- Monitor customer accounts and identify overdue balances.
- Prepare and issue customer statements.
- Assist with aged debtor reporting.
- Follow up outstanding invoices by telephone, email and written correspondence.
- Record collection activity and customer commitments accurately.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails.
Depot Support:
- Work closely with depot teams regarding customer accounts and outstanding balances.
- Obtain information from depots to help resolve customer queries.
- Follow up on invoicing, delivery or account issues.
- Ensure relevant customer issues are communicated to the appropriate depot or Finance team.
- Support consistent credit-control processes across the depot network.
Customer Service:
- Deal professionally with customer queries regarding invoices, statements and payments.
- Build positive relationships with customers while following agreed credit-control procedures.
- Investigate account discrepancies and liaise with internal teams to resolve them.
- Communicate payment expectations clearly and professionally.
Escalations:
- Identify accounts requiring further attention.
- Escalate disputed, high-risk or problematic accounts to the Credit Control Manager.
- Provide the Manager with accurate information on customer history, outstanding balances and previous contact.
- Follow agreed escalation procedures.
Finance Support:
- Assist with account reconciliations.
- Support allocation and investigation of payments where required.
- Assist with month-end activities.
- Provide administrative support to the wider Finance team as required.
- Assist with credit reviews and customer account maintenance.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
Essential:
- Strong administration experience.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisation and ability to prioritise.
- Confident dealing with customers by phone and email.
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work accurately with financial information.
- Proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Ability to work effectively with different internal teams.
Credit-control experience:
- Previous credit-control or accounts-receivable experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Candidates from strong administration, customer service, sales administration, accounts administration or similar backgrounds should be considered.
- Full training and development should be provided on the credit-control aspects of the role.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume environment.
- Experience dealing with multiple branches, depots or locations.
- Experience using an ERP/accounting system.
- Basic understanding of invoicing, payments and customer accounts.
- Interest in developing a career in credit control/finance.
