Roofer - Housing Executive

Location: Cloughfern Avenue, Newtownabbey
Department: NIHE Direct - West Belfast Response
Rate: £14.35 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Contract: Temporary - 14 September to 14 December 2026

Working Hours

• Monday-Thursday: 8:30am-4:30pm
• Friday: 8:30am-4:00pm

The Role

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive is seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join the NIHE Direct team. The successful candidate will undertake roofing and general maintenance duties across Housing Executive properties.

Key Duties

• Repairs to slate and tiled roofs.
• Replacing roofing felt, verges and gutters.
• Chimney removal and associated works.
• Roof-space insulation.
• General multi-trade maintenance and repairs.
• Working safely and professionally in accordance with NIHE requirements.

Requirements

• 1-5 years' relevant experience.
• Multi-trade experience.
• Basic IT proficiency.
• Basic AccessNI check required.
• Own hand tools required.
• PPE provided by NIHE.
• Use of district offices or depots as required.

Benefits

• Minimum 20-minute break, flexible between 12pm-2pm
