Location: Rathfarnham, Dublin 16

Hours: 78 hours fortnightly, flexible to work weekends

Pay Rate / Salary: €33-37k per annum

Contract Type: Maternity Cover (6 months), with potential for extension

About the Role:

We are seeking an Activity Coordinator to play an integral role within a friendly, dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The role will make a significant contribution to rehabilitation through therapeutic and recreational activities. This Activity Coordinator position will suit someone with relevant experience in activities coordination, occupational therapy assistance or healthcare assistance.

Key Duties:

  • Develop professional rapport with residents and encourage participation in appropriate activities.
  • Obtain information from residents and/or families regarding interests and skills.
  • Plan activity programmes collaboratively with individual patients.
  • Organise, supervise and implement therapeutic and recreational programmes.
  • Plan, supervise and accompany patients on appropriate outings.
  • Engage patients in group and individual activities.
  • Observe and record residents' behaviour, ability and responses, communicating observations to nursing staff and the wider MDT team.
  • Participate in audits and maintain competency through required training and education.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 6 months' experience as an Activities Coordinator, Occupational Therapy Assistant or Healthcare Assistant.
  • QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare or equivalent is desirable
  • Previous experience in a mental health setting
