Technical Advisor - HVAC & Electrical Products

Are you experienced with electrical, heating or ventilation products and confident helping customers choose the right solution for their needs?

Staffline Recruitment is partnering with an established supplier of heating, ventilation and electrical products to recruit a Technical Advisor.

This is a customer-facing, product-led position where you will provide practical advice to installers, wholesalers, consultants, customers and internal sales colleagues. You will help customers understand the product range, select suitable equipment and resolve product or installation queries.

The Role

You will become a key source of product knowledge within the business, providing guidance throughout the customer journey, from initial product selection and specification through to installation and after-sales assistance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable heating, ventilation or electrical products
• Advising customers, installers, wholesalers, consultants and sales colleagues on product features, specifications and compatibility
• Helping customers resolve product-performance and installation queries
• Reviewing project information and identifying products that meet the required technical and commercial criteria
• Preparing product specifications, supporting documents and AutoCAD drawings where required
• Assisting the sales team with quotations, product comparisons and customer proposals
• Ensuring recommended products are suitable for their intended purpose and installation environment
• Delivering product demonstrations and training sessions for colleagues, distributors, sales agents and customers
• Creating clear product resources, including presentations, manuals, selection guides and instructional content
• Reviewing product literature to ensure information remains accurate, consistent and easy to understand
• Examining returned or queried products and documenting findings as part of the company's quality processes
• Sharing recurring customer queries and market feedback with product, sales and quality colleagues
• Providing technical product input during new launches and improvement projects
• Supporting order coordination and related administration when required

About You

This role may suit someone currently working for an electrical wholesaler, HVAC supplier, building-services company, product manufacturer or technical sales business.

It may also appeal to an electrician, electrical engineering graduate or building-services professional looking to move into a customer-focused advisory position.

You will ideally bring:

• Experience working with electrical, heating, ventilation, HVAC or building-services products
• A qualification or practical background in electrical engineering, building services, mechanical engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience in product advice, technical sales, estimating or customer service within a product-based business
• The ability to interpret customer requirements and recommend appropriate products
• Confidence discussing product specifications, installation considerations and suitability
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain product information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• A practical and methodical approach to investigating product queries
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• A proactive, customer-focused and commercially aware approach

Experience using AutoCAD, ERP systems or quotation and order-processing software would be advantageous. Previous experience delivering product demonstrations, presentations or training would also be beneficial.
