Staffline Ireland are currently recruiting on behalf of our Newry-based client for an experienced Management Accountant, preferably with a manufacturing background, who can provide critical financial insights to drive profitability through focus on cost control, operational efficiencies, analysis of production costs through detailed variance analysis and management of inventory valuation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate monthly management accounts, analysing cost and margin performance, driving cost control initiatives, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.

Responsibilities:

• Cost Accounting & Inventory: Own cost accounting, including raw materials, labour, and overheads. Lead month-end stock takes, reconciliations, and valuations.
• Variance Analysis: Analyse performance, investigating discrepancies between standard and actual costs to identify waste reduction and profitability opportunities.
• Financial Reporting & Control: Produce monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with financial controls and audit requirements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, providing insight for operational decisions.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with sales and operations to enhance reporting and provide clear actionable financial data to non-finance managers.

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
• Ability to thrive in a growing and changing environment
• Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
• Qualified or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Someone who is analytical, with the ability to influence operational stakeholders and improve processes.
• Hold a current full driving license which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car.
