ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting a Senior Risk Manager on behalf of a major healthcare infrastructure development programme. Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will join the Programme Management Office (PMO) and lead risk management across one of Ireland's largest healthcare infrastructure projects. As the Senior Risk Manager, you will help safeguard the successful delivery of the programme by identifying, assessing and mitigating risks that could impact project cost, schedule, quality and operational performance, while supporting effective governance and informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a landmark project that will strengthen Ireland's healthcare infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting programme governance, contingency planning and strategic decision-making while working alongside multidisciplinary teams delivering a nationally significant development.

Reporting to: Project Management Lead

You should apply if you are an experienced:

Architect, Senior Risk Manager (Eng), Project Controls Manager, Project or Programme Manager, Senior Engineer, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Construction Manager, or a professional with major project risk management experience.

Please note: This role is focused on project and programme risk management within the built environment. Unfortunately, this role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to financial, commercial, IT, digital or legal risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & Day-to-day Activities

You will support the successful delivery of the programme through responsibilities including:

  • Identifying, assessing and proactively managing programme risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Developing and maintaining the programme risk register
  • Facilitating risk workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
  • Coordinating qualitative and quantitative risk assessments (QCRA, QSRA and Monte Carlo risk modelling)
  • Monitoring mitigation actions and contingency planning
  • Preparing risk reports for senior leadership and governance forums
  • Continuously improving risk management processes
  • Working collaboratively with project teams, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders
  • Reviewing and improving risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement across the programme

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • A QQI Level 8 qualification (or higher) in Engineering, Architecture, Surveying, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience working within a risk management environment on large-scale capital projects or programmes
  • Experience collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders in complex project environments

Desirable

  • Experience in healthcare infrastructure or public sector capital programmes
  • Professional Risk Management certification (IRM, PMI-RMP, APM Risk, or equivalent)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong understanding of integrated risk management processes across cost, schedule, and programme delivery
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies
  • Experience managing risks on major infrastructure, healthcare, construction, or transformation programmes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent report-writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
