Customs Clearance Coordinator

📍 Cork
💰 €35,000 - €40,000 + Benefits + Mid-Year & End-of-Year Bonus
⏰ Full-Time | Permanent | Office-Based
📅 Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

About the Role

An established logistics and freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Coordinator to join its Cork-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a customs professional with experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics who is looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced international environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across road, sea, and air freight channels while maintaining the highest standards of customs compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Import and Export Customs Declarations, ENS and PBN submissions accurately and within required timelines.

  • Coordinate customs clearance activities across road, sea, and air freight operations.

  • Liaise with customers, government agencies, and internal teams to obtain and verify required documentation.

  • Prepare and maintain customs clearance templates for regular shipments.

  • Support customs compliance initiatives and internal audit processes.

  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure efficient cargo movement.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with AEO standards and customs regulations.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Essential Requirements

  • 2-4 years' experience in Customs Clearance within Ireland.

  • Strong knowledge of Irish Revenue Customs procedures and regulations.

  • Experience within a freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or transport environment.

  • Experience using Azyra software.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Technical Knowledge Required

Strong working knowledge of:

  • Import & Export Customs Procedures

  • Customs Documentation & Clearance Processes

  • Incoterms & Tariff Classification

  • Transit Procedures

  • EUR1 & ATR1 Documentation

  • Rules of Origin

  • Certificates of Origin & Invoice Declarations

  • REX (Registered Exporter System)

  • Customs Invoices

  • VAT Rules & Duty Payments

  • Customs Warehousing

  • Inward Processing Relief

  • Anti-Dumping Duties, Safeguard Duties & Quota Regulations

  • Additional Customs Codes and Regulatory Requirements

Desirable Experience

  • Experience dealing with DAFM, HSE, Port Health, or other state authorities.

  • Experience creating CHEDs through TRACES and uploading documentation through INIS.

  • Experience submitting TSS declarations for Northern Ireland imports.
