SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR | DUBLIN 2 | 6-MONTH CONTRACT + POTENTIAL TO EXTEND TO 12 MONTHS

THE ROLE

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established multi-disciplinary team based in Dublin 2. This is a full-time position offering exposure to a broad range of high-value and impactful construction projects across renovation, conservation, fit-out and new build environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from initial appraisal through to final account, while working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and project teams in a collaborative and professional environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES |

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and coordinating assigned work programmes in line with agreed business objectives
  • Delivering professional quantity surveying services across a diverse portfolio of construction-related projects
  • Reviewing project appraisals, supporting value engineering initiatives and establishing project budgets
  • Preparing and assessing cost estimates to ensure value for money across all project stages
  • Reviewing cost plans and monitoring project budgets prior to tender
  • Providing guidance on procurement strategies and contracts in line with the Capital Works Management Framework
  • Working collaboratively with in-house multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance and effective project delivery
  • Managing interim cost reviews throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assessing and negotiating final accounts and resolving associated issues
  • Advising on post-contract matters including dispute resolution procedures
  • Providing expert advice on construction cost management and industry best practice
  • Monitoring current market trends, innovations and developments within the construction sector
  • Supporting compliance with Government and EU Directives, Building Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice
  • Assisting in the development and prioritisation of future projects
  • Supporting and mentoring staff where required
  • Conducting site inspections and evaluations to monitor quality, progress and completed works
  • Representing the department at meetings, stakeholder engagements and industry seminars as required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must, on or before the closing date:

  • Be a citizen of Ireland
  • Hold a recognised Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification quantity surveying experience, including at least 3 years operating at senior level on significant projects
  • Be eligible for inclusion on the Register of Quantity Surveyors established under Part 4 of the Building Control Act 2007
  • Possess strong technical and IT skills relevant to the role
  • Have a solid understanding of European and National procurement rules, the Capital Works Management Framework and Public Works Contracts
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Infrastructure Guidelines and public procurement procedures
  • Have the ability to take a strategic and solutions-focused approach to project delivery
  • Be confident in project cost assessment, analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrate strong investigative, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Be capable of working effectively under pressure and managing competing deadlines
  • Have excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Be comfortable liaising with senior personnel, legal representatives and multidisciplinary teams

DESIRABLE |

  • Chartered Membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary project environments
  • Experience producing and analysing construction cost data
  • Strong understanding of complex contractual matters and dispute resolution
  • Knowledge of public administration in Ireland
  • Advanced understanding of Infrastructure Guidelines and procurement procedures
  • A Level 9 qualification in a construction or construction management related discipline

This is a 6 Month contract through Staffline Recruitment Ireland with the potential to extend to 12 months.
