My client is seeking to hire a Bid Manager in the Mayo region.

Overview

A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join its growing pre-construction team. This role is critical in securing new business and involves full ownership of the tendering process for major infrastructure and utilities projects across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full bid life cycle from initial opportunity through to submission and handover

• Lead and coordinate bid teams, ensuring all technical, commercial, and programme inputs are aligned

• Prepare high-quality, compliant, and competitive tender submissions

• Review and develop pricing strategies in collaboration with commercial teams

• Analyse tender documentation, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies

• Engage with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners throughout the bid process

• Ensure all submissions meet client specifications and procurement requirements

• Contribute to written proposals, ensuring clarity, quality, and a strong presentation

• Conduct post-tender reviews to identify improvements and lessons learned

• Maintain and improve bid processes, systems, and documentation standards

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline

• Proven experience in a Bid Manager or similar pre-construction role within civil engineering or construction

• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of pricing and procurement processes

• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple bids
