Information Governance Advisor - Belfast

Pay rate £16.90 per hour
Hours: Full-time (37hours per week, Monday-Friday)

Overview

Staffline is recruiting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for an Information Governance Advisor to join the Legal Services & Information Governance team in Belfast.

This role supports the organisation in meeting statutory obligations relating to FOI, Data Protection, and Records Management, ensuring accurate handling of sensitive information and compliance with legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance on FOI, Data Protection, and Records Management
  • Manage and process FOI/EIR and Data Protection requests
  • Draft responses to Subject Access Requests and ICO enquiries
  • Support internal reviews, audits, and compliance reporting
  • Maintain and update information governance systems and records (RNI/EDRMS)
  • Assist with policy development and compliance monitoring
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions where required
  • Analyse data and produce reports for senior management
  • Support records management, including retention and disposal processes

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Degree (or equivalent Level 6) with 1+ year relevant admin experience
    OR
  • HND (Level 5) with 2+ years relevant admin experience
  • Experience working within a team providing policy/procedural advice
  • Experience analysing data and producing reports on trends/compliance
  • Understanding of FOI, EIR, Data Protection or Records Management
  • Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Full driving licence or access to transport

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Information Governance within a large organisation
  • Professional qualification (e.g. CIPP/E, PC.dp GDPR, FOI qualification)
  • Experience providing IG advice to stakeholders
