Administrative Officer (AO) - Accounts Receivable

Location: Newforge Lane
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

About the Role

AFBI are seeking a motivated and organised Administrative Officer (AO) to join the Finance Processing - Accounts Receivable team based in Newforge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and customer service experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced finance environment.

The successful candidate will support the Accounts Receivable function by processing invoices, resolving customer queries, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with financial administration duties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Format data for importing into the finance accounting system to generate batch invoices for customers.
  • Create manual invoices and credit notes on customer accounts within the finance accounting system.
  • Carry out credit control duties, including issuing statements and copy invoices to customers upon request.
  • Take customer credit card payments over the telephone.
  • Resolve customer and supplier queries via email and telephone in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process supplier invoices for payment using the purchasing ordering system.
  • Review and post staff expense claims.
  • Maintain accurate work trackers and query logs using Content Manager.
  • Provide general administrative support within the finance function as required.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • Two GCSEs in Mathematics and English (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in an administrative support role that included internal or external customer support responsibilities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
