Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting for a Senior HR Generalist on behalf of a leading employer based in Campsie, Derry / Londonderry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take on a senior, business-facing role where you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders, while supporting the delivery of key people strategies across the organisation.

The successful candidate will bring excellent employee relations experience, with a strong background in supporting a large workforce of 250 to 300 employees minimum. This role will suit someone who is confident operating in a fast-paced environment, partnering with management, handling complex people matters and helping to drive a positive, high-performing culture.

The Role

As Senior HR Generalist, you will act as a key point of contact for employees and managers within designated business areas. You will work closely with leadership teams to understand business needs, identify HR priorities and implement people strategies that support wider organisational objectives.

You will play an important role in strengthening employee engagement, supporting organisational change, improving team performance and ensuring HR policies and processes are applied effectively. You will also work in partnership with wider HR specialists and stakeholders to deliver impactful HR services and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a main HR contact for employees and managers across designated business units
  • Partner with business leaders to identify HR priorities and develop people strategies aligned to business goals
  • Provide coaching and support to managers to help drive engagement and performance
  • Lead on employee relations matters, providing expert advice and guidance across a wide range of complex issues
  • Support a workforce environment of 250-300 employees minimum, ensuring strong HR support across a sizeable employee base
  • Identify development gaps within teams and support initiatives to improve collaboration and effectiveness
  • Assess organisational needs and support improvements to structures, processes and ways of working
  • Support change management activity to help deliver positive business outcomes
  • Promote employee engagement and contribute to a strong employee value proposition
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policy, process and best practice
  • Work with HR centres of expertise across areas such as talent acquisition, rewards, learning and development, employee relations and HR systems
  • Hold regular meetings with business unit stakeholders to review HR priorities and challenges
  • Provide practical HR guidance to line managers on a wide range of people matters
  • Analyse HR trends and metrics to support the development of solutions, policies and initiatives
  • Manage investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and other complex employee relations cases
  • Maintain strong knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements, partnering with legal teams where required

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Behavioural Science or a related discipline
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years' HR experience
  • Must have excellent employee relations experience
  • Experience working in HR for a workforce of 250 to 300 employees minimum
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, organisational development, performance management, compensation and employment law
  • Experience supporting organisational development and change management initiatives
  • Strong understanding of HR strategy and its role in supporting wider business objectives
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships and strategic partnerships internally and externally
  • Strong customer service approach and ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone
  • Knowledge of talent acquisition, total rewards, learning and development, employee communication and HR best practice
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work effectively across diverse teams

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm
