Social Care Worker (CORU Registered)
Full-Time | Permanent
Locations: Cork City, Suburbs & West Cork
We are currently recruiting Social Care Workers to join a dedicated team supporting adults and children in residential and respite services across Cork. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to work within a person-centred, high-support environment focused on dignity, respect, and quality of care.
A panel will also be formed from this recruitment process to fill future vacancies over the coming year.
Role Overview
As a Social Care Worker, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in a high-support setting. You will play a key role in delivering person-centred care, promoting independence, and ensuring that all supports are aligned with human rights principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in a residential setting
- Support individuals with complex needs, including autism and behaviours of concern
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and advocates
- Follow care plans, protocols, and risk management strategies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development
Essential Requirements (CORU Focus)
- Must be CORU registered OR
- Eligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU OR
- Hold a recognised Schedule 3 qualification and be in the process of CORU registration
- Candidates under Section 91 must provide proof of application to CORU (submitted before 30th November 2025)
👉 Please note: CORU registration is a mandatory requirement before a contract can be issued.
Additional Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Social Care or equivalent
- Full clean manual driving licence (essential)
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and care systems)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism
- Experience in residential or high-support environments
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Familiarity with CPI/MAPA techniques
- Experience in risk management and working to care protocols
