Social Care Worker (CORU Registered)


Full-Time | Permanent
Locations: Cork City, Suburbs & West Cork

We are currently recruiting Social Care Workers to join a dedicated team supporting adults and children in residential and respite services across Cork. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to work within a person-centred, high-support environment focused on dignity, respect, and quality of care.

A panel will also be formed from this recruitment process to fill future vacancies over the coming year.


Role Overview

As a Social Care Worker, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in a high-support setting. You will play a key role in delivering person-centred care, promoting independence, and ensuring that all supports are aligned with human rights principles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in a residential setting
  • Support individuals with complex needs, including autism and behaviours of concern
  • Promote independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and advocates
  • Follow care plans, protocols, and risk management strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development

Essential Requirements (CORU Focus)

  • Must be CORU registered OR
  • Eligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU OR
  • Hold a recognised Schedule 3 qualification and be in the process of CORU registration
  • Candidates under Section 91 must provide proof of application to CORU (submitted before 30th November 2025)

👉 Please note: CORU registration is a mandatory requirement before a contract can be issued.


Additional Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Social Care or equivalent
  • Full clean manual driving licence (essential)
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and care systems)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism
  • Experience in residential or high-support environments
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Familiarity with CPI/MAPA techniques
  • Experience in risk management and working to care protocols
