Senior Quality Engineer
Staffline Ireland are recruiting Senior Quality Engineer on behalf of our Ballynahinch based Client.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Quality Department in maintaining compliance with internationally recognised standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IECEx (ISO 80079), through the planning and execution of internal audits and coordination of external audits.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review quality documentation, including Quality Standards, Quality Plans, Inspection Instructions, Process Routes, and Calibration Procedures, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Perform and support incoming inspection of raw materials, ensuring conformity to specifications and initiating corrective actions where required.
- Manage supplier non-conformances, including coordinating rejection processes, defining disposition, and ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
- Lead the development of process flow diagrams and quality plans for new product introduction (NPI), including the creation of inspection programmes covering patrol, in process, and final inspection stages.
- Maintain and continuously improve First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) systems to ensure robust product validation and process capability.
- Administer and maintain systems for tracking concessions, non-conformance reports, and customer complaints, ensuring effective resolution and communication.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements by collecting, maintaining, and managing product compliance documentation (e.g., RoHS, REACH, PFAS).
- Analyse and report on departmental and business-critical KPIs on a monthly basis, identifying trends and driving data-informed improvement initiatives.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the calibration system, including the internal calibration of measurement instruments.
- Actively contribute to and lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Serve as a key point of contact for customer quality-related queries, providing timely and accurate technical responses.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams to support the introduction of new products and processes, ensuring quality is embedded from concept through to production.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Quality Inspectors and Production personnel, promoting best practices and a culture of quality across the organisation.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support business objectives.
Essential requirements:
- Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
- Recent experience in a Quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, particularly ISO 9001.
- Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and/or Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis).
- Experience managing non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or IECEx (ISO 80079) standards.
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Experience working with supplier quality management and supplier audits.
- Knowledge of product compliance requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH, PFAS).
- Experience in calibration systems and measurement equipment control.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and process development.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or higher preferred).
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., oil & gas, aerospace, automotive).
- Experience with Insight 123 MRP System
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday: 7am - 5pm
