Are you a driven, commercially minded individual who enjoys building relationships and delivering excellent customer service? We are seeking a Trade Counter Sales Representative to join a well-established and busy hardware and building supplies business. This is a full-time, permanent role, based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.
Organisation
Our client is a reputable and growing supplier within the hardware and building materials sector, known for their strong trade relationships and commitment to customer service. Supporting both trade professionals and the general public, they pride themselves on product knowledge, reliability, and a proactive approach to sales. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a motivated and target-driven individual to join their team and support both internal and external sales functions.
Responsibilities
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Deliver professional and knowledgeable service at the trade counter;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing trade customers;
- Identify opportunities to grow customer accounts and generate new business;
- Proactively source and follow up on leads using online tools and platforms;
- Conduct telesales and follow-up calls to convert opportunities into sales;
- Manage and update CRM systems to track leads and customer activity;
- Prepare and follow up on quotations for the external sales team;
- Support order processing and provide customer support as required;
- Assist with general trade counter and store operations when needed;
- Maintain strong product knowledge across hardware and building materials.

Criteria
- Previous experience in sales, hardware, building materials, or a trade environment, with a strong commercial mindset and ability to work towards targets;
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage workload independently and follow through on tasks;
- Comfortable using CRM systems, online tools, and telesales activity;
- Must be able to reliably commute to Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, or be willing to relocate prior to starting.
