Are you a commercially driven, detail-oriented sales professional with experience in hardware or construction materials? We are seeking an Internal & Retail Sales Executive to join a well-established and expanding hardware and building supplies business. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, offering strong earning potential and long-term career progression.

Our client is a trusted supplier within the hardware and construction materials sector, known for their strong local presence, expert product knowledge, and commitment to customer service. Supplying trade professionals, contractors, self-build clients, and the general public, they pride themselves on reliability and commercial expertise. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a motivated Internal & Retails Sales executive to support retail operations while proactively driving new business development.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the sales team, you will:

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Manage inbound and outbound sales calls professionally and efficiently;
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed sales using a consultative selling approach;
  • Meet and exceed agreed sales and margin targets;
  • Up-sell and cross-sell across the hardware and construction product range.

Business Development

  • Develop large-scale construction and self-build accounts;
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities;
  • Investigate opportunities via the CIS platform and proactively develop leads;
  • Build and manage your own structured sales pipeline;
  • Build long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and self-build clients.

CRM & Lead Management

  • Use CRM systems daily to log activity, track leads, and manage follow-ups;
  • Maintain accurate customer and project records;
  • Monitor quotation performance and conversion ratios;
  • Ensure structured pipeline management and timely follow-up.

Order Processing & Coordination

  • Prepare accurate quotations and process customer orders;
  • Follow up on outstanding quotes and pricing;
  • Liaise with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure smooth fulfilment;
  • Support internal reporting and sales performance tracking.

Criteria

Essential


* Previous experience in internal sales, telesales, retail sales, or construction-related sales;
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills;
* Proven ability to generate and develop new business;
* Experience using CRM systems and managing a structured sales pipeline;
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail;
* Target-driven, self-motivated, and team-oriented.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of hardware products and construction materials;
  • Experience working with builders, contractors, or self-build customers;
  • Familiarity with the CIS construction information platform.

This position would also suit someone from a trade background who is commercially minded and looking to transition into a more sales-focused, business development role.
