Quality Engineer - Lisburn, Northern Ireland

Temporary Contract - 12 Months

£20.51 per hour to £23.08 per hour depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a hands on Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives and ensure customer requirements are consistently delivered across our Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) Value Streams. This technical role requires curiosity, independent thinking, and a drive to improve products and processes. You will play a key role in advancing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance while ensuring compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards.

The M&D product line is a market leader in sensing devices and systems for Electrical Utilities and Industrial customers, helping them optimise the performance of critical assets such as power transformers and circuit breakers.

As part of the Global Supply Chain team, the Quality Engineer will focus on product and process performance at the Lisburn site, collaborating across internal teams, suppliers, and customers to enhance customer experience, reduce cost of poor quality, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and practice LEAN Operating Principles (SQDC)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and company standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC 610, IPC 620)
  • Own production-related non-conformance: containment, investigation, and implementation of countermeasures
  • Maintain accurate quality records in the system of record
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of process monitoring and measuring equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product and process improvements
  • Monitor and report business quality performance metrics
  • Operationalize QMS policies, procedures, work instructions, and controls for production operations
  • Support external audits, customer visits, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Ensure effective implementation of product and process changes, including New Product Introduction
  • Capture, review, and reduce Cost of Poor Quality

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Quality Engineering or a similar role
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical issues using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., A3, 8D, Kaizen)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a team-based environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
