Planner/Buyer
Full-Time | Temporary | Lisburn
Role Summary:
Based in Lisburn, UK, the Planner/Buyer will work within the Materials Department. The role is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and purchasing a portfolio of parts from a group of vendors in accordance with established procedures. The Planner/Buyer ensures consistent supply while managing inventory levels effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement of both direct and indirect materials in support of a manufacturing plant using the SAP ERP system.
- Procure and schedule inbound supply to align with SAP requirements, supporting plant inventory targets while adhering to corporate procurement policies.
- Ensure purchasing documents, such as purchase orders, are processed accurately, submitted on time, and maintain correct costs and data entry throughout the procurement process from submission to invoicing.
- Maintain replenishment, call-off, and supplier-managed inventory processes to ensure timely delivery and inventory targets are met.
- Administer non-conforming supplier stock and replacements in coordination with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) management.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams to identify cost reduction or avoidance opportunities.
- Communicate and resolve issues that could impact the manufacturing process, escalating concerns as needed.
- Assist in maintaining accurate physical vs. perpetual inventory records, safety stocks, and supplier forecasts.
- Manage component changes and the introduction of new parts through the planning process.
- Monitor and report key performance metrics, including supplier on-time delivery, order execution, and supplier payments.
- Undertake other tasks and projects related to materials or supplier management as required.
Key Competencies:
- Proven experience in Supply Chain Planning.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and their practical application.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience using SAP ERP systems.
- Self-starter capable of working independently under pressure and adapting to changing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
