Assistant Director of Nursing - Mental Health

My client, an independent not-for-profit hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to provide temporary cover for 3months, for their in-patient mental health service based in South Dublin.

The client provides a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with a range of serious and enduring mental health needs such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's Diseases, as well as individuals with early onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders.

Key Duties:

• Lead and support nurses to provide safe, high-quality care.
• Ensure incidents, near-misses, and concerns are reported properly and to support investigations, reviews, and follow-up actions after incidents.
• Support inspections, reviews, and regulatory requirements.
• Help manage rosters, leave, and staffing levels to ensure safe care.
• Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required.
• Represent nursing at senior management, MDT, and external meetings.

Essential Criteria:

• Registered Psychiatric Nurse with NMBI.
• At least 7 years of nursing experience with at least 3 years working in adult mental health services.
• Recent senior clinical and management experience in Mental health services or Care of the Older Person (in Ireland)
• Clinical experience caring for people with medical conditions and in palliative care.
