Position Overview

Our client, a leading expert in Irish, UK, and European haulage with specialization in container transport and warehousing, is seeking a skilled Transport Planner. This role is essential for coordinating the transport of goods, optimizing routes, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of performing in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Route Planning and Coordination: Develop, plan, and manage efficient transport routes for articulated vehicles, prioritizing cost-effective and timely delivery.
• Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle fleets to maximize utilization, monitoring performance to drive operational efficiency.
• Process Optimization: Collaborate closely with internal teams to streamline transportation operations, enhancing service quality.
• Communication: Serve as a key contact, communicating with drivers and external partners to confirm on-schedule deliveries and resolve any in-transit issues.
• Data Analysis: Regularly analyze transport data to identify areas for improvement in route efficiency and cost management.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Proven background in route planning, particularly nationwide, with a track record of optimizing transport schedules and routes.
• Skills:
  • Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to make data-driven route adjustments.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination across departments and with external stakeholders.

• Technical Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with Working Time Directive (WTD) and tachograph regulations to ensure compliance.
