Senior Transport Manager

Staffline Recruitment Ireland, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Manager to lead and optimise transport operations from their head office in Limerick.

The Role

As Senior Transport Manager, you will oversee and direct a dedicated transport team, ensuring operational efficiency, fleet accountability, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery. This is a critical leadership role requiring both a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to managing daily logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of transport specialists to ensure optimal fleet performance and utilisation.

• Minimise contractor reliance by optimising in-house transport resources.

• Oversee route planning, scheduling, and cost control to maximise efficiency.

• Ensure full compliance with Irish and UK transport regulations, as well as health & safety standards.

• Maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring service levels are met and exceeded.

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

• Manage and refine transport policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise transport operations.

• Proven experience in a senior transport management role within the logistics industry.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of Irish and UK transport regulations.
