Job description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Ballymoney require an Energy Officer to join their team.

Role : Energy Officer

Hours of Work : Monday to Friday 37 hrs per week

Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £18.41 13 weeks + £20.02

Main Duties :

  • Implement (co-ordinate, manage and deliver) an integrated Energy Management Strategy (EMS) to drive and create an innovative approach to minimising & reducing Council's energy consumption. Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders and advise on consumption analysis, recommended targets, report progress and signpost best practice. Ensure that all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) plant and utility services are effective, efficient and economical, meet the needs of the customer and contribute to the objectives within the EMS. This shall include a strategy which recognises the principles of the Council's sustainable development plan and reduce the impact of corporate energy consumption on climate change.
  • Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Essential Criteria :

  • A third level qualification in a relevant discipline eg Electrical, Mechanical or Energy/Service based subject.

AND

  • Applicants must demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, that they have experience of:

  • Devising and implementing strategies, policies and projects to support energy management within a comparable environment.
  • Analysis of complex data and issues and production of reports / presentations and effective working solutions.
  • Process / quality improvement techniques.
  • An in depth understanding of legislation, guidance and good practice relating to energy and carbon management.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following: contract management; renewable energy technologies; building related energy and carbon management.
  • A current full, Category B (car), Driving Licence valid in the UK and access to a car or *have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
