Band 2 Catering Assistant

Support Services Assistant required for a large public sector organisation based through the Belfast Trust

Location: Knockbracken Health Park

Pay Per Hour: £11.44

Working Hours: 7am-1pm or 7am-2pm or 8am-4pm (training will be provided)

JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:

The postholder will be responsible for providing cleaning, catering and laundry services within a designated facility.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparing beverages, snacks, preparation and cooking of meals as per menu
• Ordering food, maintaining adequate stocks and ensuring good stock rotation
• Complying with all food hygiene control systems
• Labelling and dating of food on delivery
• Ensuring food is correctly and safely stored
• Dishwashing
• Cleaning all kitchen equipment
• Cleaning of sinks, baths, toilets, showers and urinals.
• Damp cleaning of furniture, fixtures, fittings, paintwork, tiles and glass partitions.
• All floor maintenance i.e. vacuuming, damp mopping, spray-cleaning, burnishing, machine scrubbing and shampooing.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. Paid experience in cleaning for a large organisation
2. 18 years of age or over
3. Basic literacy and numeracy skills

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Experience in working within a health and social care environment
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent
• Cooking Qualification
