Job description

Our client requires a Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our Plumbing team in Cork City. The candidate will be responsible for managing and proactively developing long-term customer relationships. Your job will be to work closely with customers to ensure they get the maximum value out of the services and products they have purchased from us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement
    Proactively engage with customers throughout their interaction with us to ensure an outstanding experience and high levels of satisfaction.

  • Trade Counter & Collections Support
    Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service to all customers at the trade counter and collections area.

  • Product Knowledge & Support
    Act as a knowledgeable point of contact on our products and services, offering continuous support to meet customer needs.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Work closely with internal teams to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers.

  • Issue Resolution
    Address and resolve customer concerns efficiently, maintaining a customer-first approach.

  • Sales Processing
    Accurately process all sales, returns, and transactions in line with current systems, pricing structures, and procedures.

  • Store Presentation
    Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all counter areas and customer-facing spaces.

  • Product Awareness
    Stay informed about newly stocked items and product updates.

  • Health & Safety Compliance
    Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.

  • Additional Duties
    Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as reasonably required by management to support the business.

Requirements:

* Knowledge of Plumbing products a distinct advantage

* Attention to detail and commitment to seeing tasks through to the end

* Possess a keen Interest in learning the range of company's products and services.

* Relationship building - the ability and willingness to build and develop productive relationships with external and internal customers

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Interpersonal skills

* Ability to Multitask and prioritise accordingly

* IT literacy

* Fluent in English
