Care Assistant/ Support Workers

Job Title: Care Assistant / Support Worker
Location: Belfast
Care Setting: Supporting individuals with Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Complex Needs
Salary: £13.89 - £15.85 per hour
(Enhanced rates available for additional hours worked)

Hours:
Full-time, Permanent
Typical shifts are 8:00am - 8:00pm, three days per week, with one full weekend off every three weeks (rotational schedule).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care with dignity, respect, independence, and choice at its core

  • Support service users in day-to-day living and integration into the community

  • Assist with personal care, daily routines, social activities, and life skills development

  • Support service users in setting and achieving individual goals

  • Observe and report changes in service users' needs to senior staff

  • Participate in regular reviews and assessments of service users' progress

  • Administer or support with medication in line with the organisation's Medication Policy

  • Promote service user engagement and respond to concerns or suggestions in a sensitive, professional manner


Essential Criteria:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including numeracy

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in a caring role

  • Working knowledge of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities

  • Understanding of behaviours that challenge and how to support individuals effectively
