Job description

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineer for our client, a leader in automation engineering. This role is ideal for a driven individual with strong experience in automation, mechanical design, and project collaboration. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in both ongoing and new automation projects, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in all stages of project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and issue design drawings for the fabrication workshop, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all documentation.
  • Create detailed AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks models to support project designs and customer specifications.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation and manuals, maintaining compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Lead mechanical engineering and parts design for automation projects, providing expert guidance on materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Project Managers, Controls Engineers, and Fabrication/Assembly staff to achieve project objectives and resolve any issues.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize design and fabrication processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Industrial experience in a manufacturing or automation environment, ideally with a strong focus on mechanical systems integration.
  • Technical proficiency in pneumatics and hydraulics, with hands-on experience in design and application.
  • Electrical/controls knowledge is a strong advantage, supporting integrated system development.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is essential for 2D and 3D modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Based in Nenagh, with occasional travel to customer sites as required.
