Job description
Maintenance Technician, Portadown / Armagh Area
Contract role : 6-12 Months
Hours of Work: Monday To Friday 7am-5pm
Rate of Pay: £15ph - £16ph
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Involvement in all projects concerning buildings and site infrastructure.
- Ensure all engineering maintenance work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
- Repair production equipment to current Company standards to optimise performance of production machinery and ancillary equipment.
- Support planned maintenance activities to ensure the upkeep of the factory. Ensuring any production downtime is kept to a minimum, whilst ensuring the machinery runs consistently to the highest tolerances and minimum waste.
- Plan for and assist with the installation of new or relocated machinery / equipment
- Ensure Equipment is properly set up and maintained, monitoring performance and carrying out fault diagnosis and running adjustments/repairs as required.
- Maintain accurate and organised records of your work, both written and electronic
- Ensuring the effective resolution of maintenance problem as they arise in line with the business' preventative maintenance plan including fault finding and breakdown repairs
Essential Criteria
- Completed an approved apprenticeship with the relevant Level 3 Mechanical/Electrical Qualification or an engineering qualification.
- Minimum of five years post apprenticeship experience in a mechanical and/or electrical hands-on maintenance and/or engineering role·
- Experience in problem-solving and rectification on a variety of equipment/machinery
- Experience and understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Experience of fault-finding using wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of electro/mechanical equipment
- A full, valid driving licence
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong organisational, planning and time-management ability
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Previous maintenance experience in a factory environment
- Physical agility and manual dexterity.
Desirable Criteria
- Manual Handling
- Forklift License
- Electrical knowledge along with gas and steel cutting experience
- Welding experience Tig / Mig
