Job description

My client a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast is currently seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join their existing team.

Hours: The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week.

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Main Duties / Responsibilities

  1. Catering

a) Preparing beverages, snacks, preparation and cooking of meals as per menu

b) Ordering food, maintaining adequate stocks and ensuring good stock rotation

c) Complying with all food hygiene control systems

d) Labelling and dating of food on delivery

e) Ensuring food is correctly and safely stored

f) Dishwashing

g) Cleaning all kitchen equipment

  1. Cleaning

a) Cleaning of sinks, baths, toilets, showers and urinals.

b) Damp cleaning of furniture, fixtures, fittings, paintwork, tiles and glass partitions.

c) All floor maintenance ie vacuuming, damp mopping, spray

cleaning, burnishing, machine scrubbing and shampooing.

  1. Laundry

a) Hand washing of non-launderable items

b) Laundering and ironing of personal clothing, bed linen, towels etc.

c) Cleaning laundry equipment

General Responsibilities

Essential Criteria

Ideally no more than 6-8 criteria in this section

Paid experience in cooking for a large family group.

18 years of age or over

SECTION 2: The following are ESSENTIAL criteria which will be measured during the interview/ selection stage:

Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience in working within a health and social care environment

  1. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  2. Cooking qualification
