Head of Finance

My client, in the public sector, are looking to hire a new Head of Finance.

This role will suit someone with 5+ years post qualification work experience and will form part of the leadership team.

This is a permanent role based on-site in Galway City.

Responsibilities:

• Overall management of the Finance Department
• Oversee financial planning, reporting, and governance.
• Monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and year-end accounts.
• Financial monitoring
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, senior managers, and governance committees, to support financial excellence.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation's strategic and operational goals.Financial governance
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, and sector governance standards.
• Prepare monthly management accounts

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant with recognised accountancy qualification
• Minimum of 5 years post qualification work experience in a similar role
• People management experience is a must have
