Overview
As a Field Support ICT Specialist, there will be considerable opportunity to influence and contribute to the delivery of data and technology solutions throughout An Garda Síochána, and to support our vision of keeping people safe by connecting data, technology and Garda personnel. We are looking for personnel who can work across a range of technologies across over 600 locations nationwide, which can include some or all of the following technologies:

• CCTV
• Radio communications
• Enterprise Networking (LAN, WAN, Communication Rooms, ISP)
• Unified Communications (Telephony, Mobile, Collaboration, etc.)
• Video conferencing systems
• Application and Systems support
• Project and rollout support
• Events and VIP support
• Audio Recording
• PC, Laptop, Mobility, support
• Control Room systems & infrastructure
• Vehicle ICT equipment fitting and troubleshooting
• Interview room & custody suite technology
• Body worn cameras

Essential: Professional Qualifications, Experience, Requirements, Skills
Each candidate must by the closing date meet one of the following criteria:

Route 1 - Formal Education:
a) Hold a major award qualification of at Level 6, or higher, on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in a relevant area of ICT, for example: an NFQ Level 6 qualification from a 2- year Post Leaving Cert Course at an ETB or an ICT-related degree at Level 7, or higher, from a University or College
and
b) Demonstrate experience in an area of ICT relevant* to this entry-level Field Support ICT Specialist role. This experience can come from current or previous roles or through projects/assignments/work experience during your education programme.

OR

Route 2 - Industry Certification:
a) Hold at least one industry recognised certification** in a relevant area of ICT relating to Field Support ICT Specialist (see below for a range of examples)
and
b) Have at least one years' hands-on ICT experience directly relevant* to an entry-level Field Support ICT Specialist role from your employment to date.

Other Essential Requirements:
A. A current full driving licence without endorsement - minimum category B.
B. Experience in analysing and resolving technical issues related to ICT infrastructure or services.
C. Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver results in a complex technical situation.
D. Demonstrated capability to communicate and work with others in a professional environment to reach a successful outcome.
E. Proven ability to overcome obstacles or setbacks to perform at a high level and meet customer/user needs.
